The idea of working 9am-5pm has always felt like a joke to me.

Reasons:

• When are you meant to do the post?
• What is the point in shopping after 5pm when all the shops are closed?
• How about legal stuff? Do you meet the lawyer in your lunch break?
• Is your productivity really optimum from 3pm onwards?
• If you’re only spending time together with your family on 2 days of the week (by the time we get home, the kids are just about ready for bed and then on Saturday we do the cleaning up and on Sundays we get food ready for the week?) > what sort of time out are we hoping to get?
• Wake up at 5am and see how productive you are. Try it.
• Who gets by on a 30 minute lunch break? We need more slots for a walk in the park.
• It’s a system from the old ages and you know what they say about systems from the old ages…

We’re thinking of abolishing the 9am-5pm and trying out something fresh for the month of November.
